Monica has worked in the early childhood education field for more than 15 years.  Currently, she is the Program Manager of Children's International School, preschools in the Washington-DC area.  She assists the teachers with the implementation of a Reggio-inspired curriculum that values collaboration, creativity, and empathy.  She holds a Master’s Degree in International Education from New York University and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Italian from the University of Virginia.

Her first self-published picture book, Books Need Love, Too!  was inspired by working in preschools and witnessing how children were handling books. She hopes that this book inspires young readers to view books as being alive with stories, needing lots of care and love.

“After nourishment, shelter, and companionship,

stories are the thing we need most in the world.”
